Dr. Gowriharan “Ty” Thaiyananthan is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Sierra Spine Institute, dedicated to delivering cutting-edge care for patients with spinal disorders. With over two decades of surgical experience, Dr. Thaiyananthan specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, complex spinal reconstruction, and motion-preserving techniques. His patient-centered approach emphasizes restoring quality of life with the most advanced, evidence-based treatments available.
A graduate of the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Thaiyananthan completed his residency in neurosurgery at Yale University, where he also served as Chief Resident. He further honed his expertise in spinal surgery through a fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Recognized for his dedication to innovation, Dr. Thaiyananthan has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented at national and international conferences on advancements in spine surgery.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Thaiyananthan is passionate about improving access to high-quality spine care.
